Positive about negatives
Alberto Ros is not your typical photographer; his hallmark is the combination of the characteristic technology of the 19th century with the technological innovations of today. This combination often involves creating huge photographic negatives of sizes up to 2m x 1.5m. The processes used are highly complex and it is paramount that he achieves optimal results every time.
Initially Alberto worked with external laboratories to create the negatives but found that the quality varied depending on the provider, and the results didn’t always correspond to what was shown on the screen. So, Alberto decided that bringing the process in-house was the way forward and invested in a Canon PRO-1000 to do his small-scale proofing, while using a 60” imagePROGRAF to help create his final masterpieces.
“WITH THIS EQUIPMENT I HAVE WHAT I NEED IN TERMS OF QUALITY AND RELIABILITY. I ALSO NEED EASE, BECAUSE MY PROCESS IS COMPLICATED ENOUGH. FOR ME IT IS THE BEST PRINTING EQUIPMENT.” ALBERTO ROS
